The rose is a truly amazing flower. It is the oldest flower in the world for a reason, for its resilience and adaptability. The opening of the rose is a true experience, every day it surprises us by transforming itself in a dramatic and majestic way!
1. Remove your flowers from the box by cutting the straps. Keep your roses tied with the elastic bands and do not remove the cardboard sleeve that holds the flowers together. We recommend leaving it for 4-8 hours so they have time to rehydrate.
2. Fill your sterilized vases or containers with at least 10cm of cool, fresh water and add the flower food to prevent bacteria growth and supply your roses with extra nutrients.
3. Remove any leaves that fall below the water line.
4. Cut each stem at a 45 degree angle about 2cm from the bottom. Use clean, sharp scissors under running water and make sure not to crush the stem.
5. Immediately after cutting each stem, place your roses in the prepared water in their vases or containers and allow them to rehydrate for at least 4 hours. Roses can take up to 12 hours to hydrate properly. Be patient! If you notice that some flowers continue to drop after 3-4 hours, an air bubble may have formed in the stem. Simply cut back the affected stem following the instructions above.
6. Cut the cardboard sleeve very carefully, and remove the outer petals that are brown or damaged. These petals are important in keeping the inside of the rose fresh during shipping.
7. Remember to give them enough space in the vase so that they can be opened without hindrance.
8. To keep your roses fresh longer, change the water every 24-48 hours or as soon as the water becomes cloudy. Check the water level frequently, as your roses will drink a substantial amount of water upon arrival!
